Weekly News Blast: Congratulations are extended to First Responders Jim Yetter, Jerry Reinwand, and Rob Mateer. All three received commendations from the Portage County EMS Association – Jim and Jerry for 25 years and Keith for 10 years. Next time you see them give them a hearty thank you! This holiday season the Town of Grant will be collaborating with Portage County Solid Waste Department and Habitat for Humanity by collecting Christmas light strands November – January (see the flyer). There will be a receptacle to drop off your lights at the Transfer Station. Ask an attendant if you don’t spot the location. The Town Board held its monthly meeting on Wednesday. Clerk Stefanie Schlapa has been very busy working on our 2026 budget, among all the other things due at year’s end – thank you! The budget hearing will be held on Monday December 1 beginning at 6:00pm. The Northern Lights were on display Wednesday evening. Here’s a beautiful picture right here from our Town! (Attached below) Fall is hanging on…for now. Enjoy, Sharon

Weekly News Blast

This week public works employees Dominic Devito and Brian Kuhlmann completed level one of the Forest Industry Safety & Training Alliance (FISTA) training. Included in this training are items such as personal protective equipment, features and safe use of the chainsaw, daily maintenance, select cuts, and tree felling to name a few… The FISTA training is one mechanism to keep our employees and residents safe. Congratulations to these two.

Supervisor Doug Steltenpohl and employee Garry Saeger cleaned both the employee and metal storage sheds at the Transfer Station this week.

The Plan Commission met and continued to make progress on revisions to our Zoning Ordinance. The commissioners are currently reviewing the comments provided by the Town’s attorney as they zero in on some of the final language for both clarity and intent.

The “fall” weather continues to be mild and comfortable. If you’re out bow hunting – good luck! Have a nice weekend, Sharon.
