The monthly town board meeting was held this week. Of note was approval of a Resolution for the Mertz Subdivision project under Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant. The Board is also working in conjunction with the Portage County Sheriff Department (PCSD) to prevent non-Town of Grant residents from illegally dumping in our Transfer Station. Fines up to $500 can be imposed. On that note, this week some remarkably inconsiderate folks cut two metal poles and stole the street signs on 105th/Mill and 110th/Mill. Once again, if you saw or know something, please contact the PCSD at 715-346-1400.
This week 12.5 miles of road were graded, some road base was spot spread on multiple roads and graded, maintenance on one of the plow trucks was completed, some brush was cleared, and the hall entry door was fixed.
Next week’s weather is slated to be unusually warm for November.
Enjoy, Sharon
