Plan Commission Meeting: The Plan Commission will meet on Wednesday, June 19th at 6:30 pm at the Grant Town Hall.   The agenda and Zoom information for the meeting can be found on the Agendas & Minutes page.

Weekly News Blast

The Board met on Monday regarding several items which included passing an emergency resolution to replace a failed culvert on 100th Street south of Timm Road. Thanks are extended to Supervisor Scott Provost for making a quick evaluation of the situation and getting the necessary reviews from WDNR. Red Run Property Services replaced the aged and failed 24” culvert with a 36” culvert within days (attached). The larger size will enable the Town to receive cost-share from the Portage County Highway Department should a failure recur. But we don’t anticipate that any decade soon (hopefully)!

Clerk Stefanie Schlapa has given the town hall office a “complete makeover” (attached). The space is brighter, organized, and has space in which to work and grow.  The large metal cabinet found a new home in the Transfer Station employee shed where it was needed for supply storage.

Our part-time grader operator has been making the rounds in and out of raindrops. A couple quads of road material was laid this week as he tried to take some potholes out of commission. It’s going to take a while to get our roads into better shape, so we appreciate your patience. If you have concerns about the roads, please let Supervisor Doug Steltenpohl know.

Just a reminder that if you want to submit public comment regarding the DRAFT Environmental Impact Statement for the Vista Sands Solar project you have until Friday June 14th. Check out the back page of the Spring Newsletter for more information.

Should be a nice weekend. Enjoy, Sharon
