Kudos to the 432 residents who voted on Tuesday. Election results can be found on the Portage County website (link to the site.) You can always find a link to the Portage County results on the Election/Voting page of the Town’s website.
If you are still interested in filing a public comment before the Public Service Commission of WI regarding the proposed Vista Sands Solar project you have until midnight tonight, August 16th. Yesterday I attended the 6pm public comment period . It ended about 7:30pm. As expected, there were comments both for and against the proposed development. According to the administrative law judge who oversaw the proceedings the earlier session went from 2pm until 5:15pm. By the close end of yesterday’s sessions there were 936 public comments on record either in person or written. Today the “party” testimony (intervening organizations and VSS developers, etc.) occurred. A lot of legal speak but all very interesting. All these public sessions are being recorded for those who wish to listen in later. It’s quite possible that there will be well over 1,000 comments by the time the public comment period ends. Thanks to all town residents who chimed in; whatever your position pro or con.
On another legal front we learned this week that former Supervisor Heather Grys-Luecht and her attorney filed an amended version of their complaint against the Town of Grant and Board of Supervisors, and now including claim against the Plan Commission. If nothing else, the town is keeping attorneys busy!
Take care and enjoy the weekend, Sharon
