I don’t think anyone could ask for more beautiful weather this week…Top that off with the big “blue moon” – stunning! It looked like you could reach out and touch it.
The Plan Commission met this week. It grabbled with a new twist as a resident violated a section of our Zoning Ordinance, and a few county and state regulations; “after the fact”. If nothing else, every week Town Board members and its appointees learn new things about how government works (or doesn’t work)! The Commissioners are nearly finished with the Sign Ordinance and hope to finalize a draft table soon that will simplify and enhance the document.
Those who live on 95th and 100th Streets between Lake Road and CTH FF; especially near the Four Mile Creek may want to attend the first construction meeting being held at the Town Hall beginning at 9:00 am on Tuesday August 27th. There you will learn the hopeful schedule for construction of the bridges and reconstruction of road sections. There may be a short period of time when both roads will be closed; most certainly when the culverts are being pulled from the creek. This project is being led by the Portage County Highway Department and overseen by Quest Engineering, LLC.
If you have not yet commented on the Information gathering for the 2025-2029 Portage County Outdoor Recreation Plan you have until August 30th to do so. Contact Clerk Stefanie Schlapa about proposed projects or Fred Heider of the North Central Regional Planning Commission at fheider@ncwrpc.org.
That’s all for now. Enjoy the weekend.
