See Something – Say Something: Some individual(s) have been cutting trees and dropping them  onto the road. This has included 6 trees over the past 2 or 3 days. Two trees were on Deer road at about 120th Street ...one tree on 100th between Deer and Griffith. two trees on Maple between 120th and 130th and one on Buena Vista about 200 feet from County F.         This is an obvious safety issue.  Citizens and visitors to the town could be injured, and vehicles could be damaged. It is taking time and energy of town employees to clear the obstructions.  Please, if you see something, say something. Call 911 and report anyone cutting trees and dropping them on the road to the Portage County Sheriff's Department.  Notify a town official so the tree can be removed..

Weekly News Blast

Happy Thanksgiving (weekend)! I hope you had a wonderful feast and family and friends to share it with. It was a relatively slow week in the Town of Grant, but there was a visitor pre-Thanksgiving snacking on bird seed and occasional garbage. Looks like an adult male black bear and a good size one at that! The males tend to be the last ones to den up if there’s enough around to eat. This visitor has been seen on 90th Street south of STH 54. WOW!

The budget hearing and special meeting of the electors will be held this Monday December 2th at 6:00 pm. Please join us.

There are still a few days of regular gun-deer season. Be safe out there, Sharon
