Weekly News Blast: The Town Board held a brief meeting on Monday. Repairs to replace a shift plate on service truck 22 were approved. This older truck will need replacement “sooner rather than later”. But with chassis STARTING at ~$150,000 the cost for a fully equipped service truck could reach $250,000. The Board may need to consider designating a specific fund to achieve this future purchase. Supervisor Doug Steltenpohl and Clerk Stefanie Schlapa compiled cost proposals for recycling and solid waste pick-up and disposal from three local service providers. After consideration, the Board opted to remain with Waste Management (WM) with a two-year rather than our current three-year contract. We retain a good working relationship with this company and staff. Thanks to Supervisor Scott Provost and Treasurer Greg Hakala the installation of the compactor significantly reduced the cost of the Transfer Station to our taxpayers in 2024. We anticipate further reductions in costs over the next two years in collaboration with WM. Meetings via ZOOM will no longer be available. We cordially invite you to join us in the Town Hall for all meetings regarding town business. Enjoy the anticipated warm weekend and don’t forget to “Spring Ahead” your clocks on Sunday, Sharon
