Weekly News Blast: We received a complaint this week that someone (not a town employee) had plowed snow from Evergreen Avenue onto County Road U (80th Street). This is a violation of Wisconsin Statutes affecting municipal roads and can carry a fine of up to $50 per occurrence. This is because snow left perpendicular to a road can harden, creating an obstruction that may cause injury to persons, vehicles, and snow removal equipment. To avoid a fine please refrain from plowing across or placing snow directly onto a road. 2025 was a difficult year for town officers due to personal losses that impacted each of us deeply. But we were still able to accomplish our respective tasks without pause. I would like to acknowledge Clerk Stefanie Schlapa, Treasurer Greg Hakala, and Supervisors Scott Provost and Doug Steltenpohl, and all our town employees who worked so hard to get things done in a timely way. I wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year and will end with a quote from Johnathan Sacks as follows: “Community is society with a human face, the place where we know we are not alone.” Sharon Schwab
