Weekly News Blast: This week we note the passing of Charlie Gussel; a dedicated public servant to the Town of Grant. Mr. Gussel served for decades in several capacities: Zoning Administrator, Plan Commissioner (both Chair and Member), County Supervisor, several ad-hoc committees, and a regular attendee at town board meetings. Several of the “old guard” of the Town have passed in recent years so it’s important to note that their contributions to our history is significant. Since the mid-1980s Charlie advocated for our independence when it came to local zoning. Now for 50 years our Town has continued to be the only municipality that maintains its own zoning.
