Weekly News Blast: The Town Board held its monthly meeting this week. Of interest to you may be a few items: 1) purchase of a used tar kettle from the Town of Plover. This will enable us to do much of our own joint and crack-sealing on our hard-surfaced roads. This will reduce our overall costs and alleviate some of the need to contract this important annual maintenance. 2) contract with Liberty Tires to conduct our annual tire day. This company does both the pick-up and recycling of our tires. Hopefully, you received a bright pink postcard informing you that tomorrow May 17th is Tire Day! 3) contract with PGA Concrete to (finally) crush our concrete and porcelain pile at the Transfer Station (yay)! The crushed material will be left as 1 ¼ road base for us to use, and the separated metals will be recycled by the company. All these moves are intended to recycle, reuse, and recover for the Town of Grant. We FINALLY got some rain, but it seems like the steady winds are doing their best to dry us out again. I hope to see you tomorrow at Tire Day and Choose to Reuse. Cheers, Sharon
