Weekly News Blast: The Public Works crew was busy brushing this week. Thanks to Brian, Dominic, Garry, and Supervisor Steltenpohl keeping everyone on task. The Board met very briefly on Wednesday to approve some repairs to the Diamond mower. So, things should be up and running perfectly again soon. Without snow a lot of brushing and clearing can be accomplished this fall and into winter. The Plan Commission met this week. The Commissioners have been working on a Conditional Use Permit for a potential new business in the Town. Stay tuned for more information about that soon. The Portage County Local Roads Improvement Program committee also met this week. Draft grants for the Mertz Subdivision, Elm Street (90th – 100th) and Lake Road (85th – 90th) were submitted. We have until mid-December to finalize those grant proposals which will then compete at the state level in hopes of securing anywhere from a 50-70% cost-share. These grants are highly competitive and according to new WisDOT rules now one large project per county (up to $1.5 million) will be awarded this grant cycle. We might need a minor miracle here…!  You should have received our Summer/Fall newsletter in your mailbox this week. If you did not, please let me know at chair@townofgrant-portage.wi.gov.  Another mild weekend looks to be on the books. If you’re out bow-hunting good luck! Sharon
