1st Responders Meeting
An event every month that begins at 6:00 pm on day Second of the month, repeating indefinitely
Weekly Blast!: There’s been a few complaints about dead deer along our roadsides this week. Unfortunately, fawns especially fall victim to car kills this time of year. We all notice an increase in the fall during the rut but even then, slowing down our vehicles doesn’t always help. If you see a dead deer along the road and it’s not too far “gone” please consider pulling it out of the way into the ditch or onto the adjoining land. Currently neither the DNR nor local contractors do this work anymore so it’s up to us to help. It’s unpleasant to be sure, but if you can, pull the animal aside. The Plan Commission met this week. The Commissioners discussed past minutes, response from a complaint, a new Conditional Use Permit, a land division request, a PowerPoint presentation for the upcoming public hearings, and the Zoning Administrator report. We are still seeking a secretary for the Plan Commission. It’s a very interesting job with so much to learn! If you are detail-oriented and want a new challenge, let me or Plan Commission Chair Jodi Lomma know. The air and heat have been difficult this week. Please be careful out there. Limit your time when there are hazard warnings issued. Take care, Sharon
