Let’s keep up our incredible record and show all the other municipalities how it’s done. Our public works crew was busy brushing along our road rights of way this week. They have been doing a very nice job. This is a good time to remind everyone that now through February is a great time to prune or cut oaks without the risk of oak wilt infection. Oak wilt is an invasive fungal disease deadly to all Wisconsin oak species. One of the ways it spreads is by sap-feeding beetles that carry spores from infected trees to fresh wounds of healthy trees. Oak wilt is very expensive to treat, but prevention is effective and much less costly. One of the best ways to help protect oaks is to prune or cut in the winter. In January, a draft of the proposed Sign Ordinance was posted. A few changes have been made since that time. This is the current proposed version of the Sign Ordinance that has been sent to the Town Board by the Plan Commission following the March 19th meeting. Once again a copy of the Sign Section of the current Zoning Ordinance is attached for comparison.
