Weekly News Blast: The Town Board held a brief meeting on Wednesday to consider a Resolution to adopt our updated All-Hazards Mitigation Plan as requested by Portage County. By doing so we may be included in applications for federal funds should a disaster affect the Town of Grant. The signed Resolution and Plan will be posted in short order. The weather has been favorable for patching, so public works employees have been out covering as many potholes as possible. You may have also seen a small, rented street sweeper out on some of the hard surface roads and intersections moving some of the sand that was laid down during the snow season. Thanks are extended to Jerry Reinwand for doing this work. The weather has been nice – good for planning and planting for the growing season. Enjoy the warmth and remember to celebrate the mothers in your life or memory. Sharon

Weekly News Blast

The board held its monthly meeting on Wednesday. Of interest were several items considered and approved: 1) Domestic Fowl Ordinance – request to amend by removing our permit application since the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) already requires registration of fowl statewide. The Town’s Ordinance still stands however the application was considered redundant. 2) Sign Ordinance – passed with revisions by the Plan Commission. This Ordinance will become effective once signed by board members and posted. 3) All-Hazards Mitigation Plan – the most recent draft was approved so that the Town would be eligible for state or federal emergency funding should the need arise. Some revisions are still needed but we are close to completion.

A winter/spring newsletter will soon be on its way to you – watch for it in the next week or so. Please join us for the Annual Meeting on Tuesday April 15th beginning at 7:00pm. A suggested agenda is attached (suggested agenda).

Enjoy the weekend, Sharon
