It was another busy week in the Town of Grant! Clerk Stefanie Schlapa put together important components for our All-Hazards Mitigation Plan. Once completely drafted we’ll all be able to review it prior to its eventual incorporation into Portage County’s Plan. Treasurer Greg Hakala attended the Annual Portage County Humane Society meeting. Of special notes were that the Town of Grant is #1 in the county for our dog licensing rate (yes!) but that the Society’s enforcement officers had to investigate up to 100 cases of dog bites in the county! The Plan Commission met on Wednesday and considered a Conditional Use Permit for an auto repair shop, continued to finalize sections of the Sign Ordinance, and much more.
The bridges on both 95th and 100th Streets over Four Mile were poured this week (pics). Pine Street also received its asphalt. More grading got done and all employees have been taking advantage of the mild weather to get things done. Important to note there is a burning ban in effect. Contact DNR Fire Control if you have questions or concerns.
