NOTICE: Monthly Town Board Meeting: Notice is hereby given that the Town of Grant Town Board will hold a meeting for the Town of Grant, in the County of Portage, State of Wisconsin, for the transaction of business permitted to be transacted at such meeting.  The meeting will be held at the Grant Town Hall, 9011 CTH WW, Wisconsin Rapids, WI on March 12th, 2025 at 6:00PM.  The agenda can be found on the Agendas & Minutes page.

Please help me in welcoming Plan Commissioner Jodi Lomma as our new Plan Commission Chair! The Plan Commission met this week to finalize the Sign Ordinance. Upon review and revisions based on public input it was recommended for approval and sent to the Town Board for consideration at next week’s meeting. Items regarding signage in our current Zoning Ordinance will be referenced to the Sign Ordinance moving forward. The next task for the Plan Commissioners was considering the input from last week’s Public Hearing regarding the Zoning Ordinance itself. There are quite a few items to consider after public review, however the Commissioners are confident that they can bring it to conclusion and make a final recommendation for approval to the Town Board.

The extremely windy conditions concurrent with sun and some thawing made for VERY icy conditions yesterday and today. Our snowplow crew gets out but with 116 miles of roads we don’t always get to places timely enough for some residents. I was cussed out to the moon and back about it yesterday, darn… Please understand that we try hard to be accommodate your requests. Be advised that Supervisor Doug Steltenpohl at 715-213-0294 oversees the road crew and will take your calls. Or you can leave a message at the Town Hall landline at 715-423-9193 and Clerk Stefanie Schlapa will forward your message. We apologize for any inconvenience the icy conditions may have caused you.
