Seasonal Weight Road Restrictions: On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Portage County Highway Department will be removing seasonal weight restrictions on all County Trunk Highways East and South of the Wisconsin River with the exception of CTH X and CTH DB.   All County Trunk Highways West of the Wisconsin River along with CTH X and CTH DB will remain posted until conditions change.  Once a final date has been determined, a separate press release will be sent out for the remaining roads.  Additional information can be obtained by contacting the Highway Department office at (715) 345-5355 or on our website at  https://www.co.portage.wi.gov/287/Highway-Department-Policies-Procedures-a Please note that these weight restrictions are for County Trunk Highways only.  Any weight restrictions on State, City, Village, or Town roads are handled by each individual municipal entity.

2026 Spring Election

The Town of Grant Election team held a training on Tuesday, March 31st. Attendees reviewed important updates to equipment, practiced key procedures, and worked through common Election Day scenarios to ensure a smooth and efficient process for voters. We appreciate the commitment of everyone who participated and their continued efforts to support fair and accessible elections in our community. 

The Spring Election will be held April 7th 2026 from 7:00AM – 8:00PM.

 

Residents may cast their ballot before Election Day by voting in-person absentee at the Town Hall on:

Saturday, April 4, 2026
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
