Weekly News Blast

This week Plan Commission Chair Jodi Lomma submitted a request to the Portage County Planning & Zoning Department to consider the rezoning of 14 parcels in the Town of Grant. Per Chair Lomma the rezones are being recommended based on how the property is being used, and alignment with the Future Land Use map in our Comprehensive Plan. She highlighted the following:

  • Of the 14 parcels, ten are being rezoned as Conservancy, one as Commercial, one as Transitional Agriculture, and two as General Agriculture
  • Public Hearing was held on 4/16/2024.
  • Plan Commission approved the recommendations on 5/21/2025
  • Town of Grant Board approved the rezones on 2/11/2026

On another subject this week our Public Works crew continued to brush along the Town rights-of-way and took care of plowing snow drifts where they occurred. Please be patient with our crew as they work along – they are doing a fine job.

Spring is sure to spring sometime soon! Sharon
