Weekly Blast!: Sometime between my last Weekly Blast and this past Monday someone (likely several) stole the large wooden panel (pic) from the Buena Vista Wildlife Area historical kiosk located just east of the junction of County Roads F and W. This beautiful panel (and the other with the prairie scene on the opposite side) were recently restored by students at UW-Stevens Point with funds donated to the family in memory of Greg Dahl, WDNR Wildlife Supervisor. This theft has been devastating to the family and the talented young students who spent months restoring this beautiful mural depicting one of the most unique wildlife species in the State of Wisconsin. NOTICE: Monthly Town Board Meeting & Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Grant Town Board will hold a meeting for the Town of Grant, in the County of Portage, State of Wisconsin, for the transaction of business permitted to be transacted at such meeting.  The meeting will be held at the Grant Town Hall, 9011 CTH WW, Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026 at 6:00PM.

The Town of Grant will conduct a Public Hearing to solicit citizen’s input on a request from D and K Investments, LLC agent Kevin Carlson for a Conditional Use Permit for rental residential unit on property zoned C1 Commercial located at 3931 80th St. S. Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494.  The Hearing will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at the Town Hall, 9011 County Road WW.  Written Comments can also be submitted to the Town Clerk until 6:30 p.m. the day of the hearing.
