Weekly News Blast: This week the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Vista Sands Solar project was released. You are encouraged to comment on this draft EIS by June 14, 2024, when the comment period ends. More than 100 individuals commented during the Environmental Scoping period some months ago – prompting the PSC to require an Environmental Impact Statement rather than the standard Environmental Assessment. This is a rare occurrence for the PSC; the first since 2008/ It was due, in part to the Buena Vista Wildlife Area – the largest grassland complex east of the Mississippi River. The Town of Grant is different in many ways, but this area makes us especially unique.
