The following is an important message from Nathan Check, Portage County Highway Commissioner:

Portage County Highway Department will be closing CTH U(80th Street South) between Church Avenue and Quarry Road. The culvert is located approximately 800’ south of Quarry Road. The nearest address is 8330 80th Street S, Wisconsin Rapids which will need to be accessed from the north.

The Highway Department is in the process of setting up a detour which will utilize STH 73 to CTH F to CTH W.

Road opening will depend on the damage assessment once flows are reduced.
