Weekly News Blast: It’s that time of year again – no, not just the holidays, but time to renew your dog license. The Town of Grant ranked #1 in Portage County for dog-licensing in 2024, thanks to our responsible dog-owners. Thank you! Let’s keep up our incredible record and show all the other municipalities how it’s done.   Our public works crew was busy brushing along our road rights of way this week. They have been doing a very nice job. This is a good time to remind everyone that now through February is a great time to prune or cut oaks without the risk of oak wilt infection. Oak wilt is an invasive fungal disease deadly to all Wisconsin oak species. One of the ways it spreads is by sap-feeding beetles that carry spores from infected trees to fresh wounds of healthy trees. Oak wilt is very expensive to treat, but prevention is effective and much less costly. One of the best ways to help protect oaks is to prune or cut in the winter. TOWN OF GRANT PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, December 4th, at 6:00 pm at the Grant Town Hall, 9011 County Hwy. WW, a PUBLIC HEARING on the 2026 PROPOSED BUDGET of the Town of Grant in Portage County will be held.  The proposed budget in detail is available for inspection by contacting the Town Clerk at 715-213-7370, clerk@townofgrant-portage.wi.gov, or Town Website Agendas & Minutes page.

 

NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF THE ELECTORS OF THE TOWN OF GRANT, PORTAGE COUNTY

Notice is hereby given that on Thursday December 4th immediately following completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed 2026 budget, which begins at 6:00 PM at the Town Hall of Grant, a special town meeting of the electors called pursuant to Section 60:12(1) ( c) of  Wisconsin Statutes by the town board for the following purposes will be held:

  1. To adopt the 2025 town tax levy to be paid in 2026 pursuant to Section 60:10(1) (a) of Wisconsin Statutes.
  2. Authorize the town board to hire town officers as employees of the town in an emergency and set an hourly wage pursuant to Sec. 60.10(1) (g) of Wisconsin Statutes.
