The following is a summary of the proposed budget: NOTICE OF SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF THE ELECTORS OF THE TOWN OF GRANT, PORTAGE COUNTY Notice is hereby given that on Thursday Monday, November 16th immediately following completion of the Public Hearing on the proposed 2027 budget, which begins at 6:00 PM at the Town Hall of Grant, a special town meeting of the electors called pursuant to Section 60:12(1) ( c) of Wisconsin Statutes by the Town Board for the following purposes will be held: To adopt the 2026 town tax levy to be paid in 2027 pursuant to Section 60:10(1) (a) of Wisconsin Statutes. Authorize the town board to hire town officers as employees of the town in an emergency and set an hourly wage pursuant to Sec. 60.10(1) (g) of Wisconsin Statutes. The location for the August 18th Public Hearings have changed from the Grant Town Hall, to Ryder’s Roadhouse, located nextdoor, to accomodate more residents.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held by the Town of Grant Town Board on:

Tuesday, August 18th, 2026 6:00 P.M.

Ryder’s Roadhouse,

9031 County Rd WW, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive comments regarding the proposed amendment to the Town of Grant Comprehensive Plan, per Wis. Stat. 66.1001(4)(d).

The amendments provide an updated Solar Overlay map and text.  The boundary of the Vista Sands Solar project is being added to the map, and an outdated status of the project is being removed from the text. The changes will help guide the future growth and development in the Town of Grant.

Information regarding the proposed comprehensive plan amendment is available for viewing at the Town Hall, 9011 County Road WW, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494. Additionally, draft plan documents are also available for download at the Town’s website: https://townofgrant-portage.wi.gov.

All interested parties are invited to attend said hearing and be heard. Written comments can be submitted to the Town Clerk prior to the meeting and shall become part of the record.

Requests for person with disabilities who need assistance to participate in this meeting or hearing should be made to the Town Clerk’s Office at (715) 423-9193 at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the meeting so that any necessary arrangements can be made to accommodate each request.
